Close the door

Did you know that a closed door can also save your life?

You know how important it is to have working smoke detectors and an evacuation plan. But did you know that a closed door can also save your life?

Why did you close the door?

Using thermal cameras, researchers have shown that a closed door can lower the temperature in the room next to the fire by up to 10x!

Carbon monoxide is a killer: during a fire, a chamber with an open door contains about 10,000 ppm of CO (parts per million of carbon monoxide), which is extremely toxic. The rate for a room with a closed door is about 100 PPM CO.

In closed rooms, oxygen levels can stay at 18%, while they quickly drop to less than 8% with an open door, which is extremely low. By the way, a fire needs oxygen to burn and grow... Better to keep oxygen for yourself than for fire. Close the door when you leave the room!

Unlike you, the danger of fire never sleeps! But in a fire, smoke kills, but does not wake up! That’s why a significant number of fire deaths occur at night. Close the door before going to bed!

Anyway, close the door.

The fire is accelerating! Forty years ago, we had up to 17 minutes on average to escape a house in the event of a fire.

Today, due to synthetic materials, furniture and construction, this time is reduced to 3 minutes!
